Where is the inspiration? This has been a brutal winter denying me of the energy to care about training. As I hopped on my trainer for the first time this New Year, I was surprisingly crushed by the numbers. I had not been that out of shape in years. Progress has been slow battling the mental game we all face at this time of year. Sure, the numbers are rebounding, but the power is not there like it was. As I said before, it is all about falling in love with the sport again.
I spent some time working on a schedule of races and have trip planned to Colorado to do some mountain biking hut-to-hut in June.
Visit http://www.backcountrybiker.com/aboutourtrips.html to plan your own trip. It should be fun! These are the little things that start the blood flowing.
All Good Things. Unfortunately, my inspiration comes in the form of Cyclism Sundays on Versus, VeloNews, Dreams of driving Karma to a race and camping out, and the joy my son gets from rinding with his father.
There will be no 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo this year, however my lights will represent me as my former teamate UKE makes the trip back to his old neighborhood for the Duo event. Ride like the wind my friend. Out too is the long desired trip to the Tour of California. Even with the return of Lance I could not justify the cost for a four day trip. Perhaps a TOC party drinking homebrew... A spring training trip is just what I need to get fired up for the season. Anyone out there have the same idea?
